Add butter or margarine, softened to shopping list 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

Add packed brown sugar to shopping list 2/3 cup packed brown sugar

Add egg, beaten to shopping list 1 egg, beaten

Add chunky peanut butter to shopping list 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter

Add vanilla to shopping list 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Add all-purpose flour to shopping list 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Add whole-wheat pastry flour to shopping list 1/2 cup whole-wheat pastry flour

Add baking soda to shopping list 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Add salt to shopping list 1/2 teaspoon salt

Add rolled oats to shopping list 1 cup rolled oats

Add chopped peanuts to shopping list 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Directions:

Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg; beat well. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla; beat smooth.

Combine flours, soda and salt; stir until well mixed. Stir flour mixture into butter-sugar mixture. Add oats and peanuts. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with fork. Bake in 350 F. for 12 to 14 minutes.
