Classic Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

Add butter, softened to shopping list 2/3 cup butter, softened

Add sugar to shopping list 1 2/3 cups sugar

Add eggs to shopping list 3 eggs

Add flour to shopping list 2 cups flour

Add baking cocoa to shopping list 2/3 cup baking cocoa

Add baking soda to shopping list 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda

Add salt to shopping list 1 teaspoon salt

Add milk to shopping list 1 1/3 cup milk

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating until smooth each time. Pour batter into greased and floured 13x9 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until cake tests done. Frost as desired.
